Rome celebrates the Made in Italy excellencies
Over the weekend of 24-26 November, Rome hosted the fourth edition of Evootrends, an event to discover oil and Made in Italy, organised by Fiera Roma, Unaprof in collaboration with Evooschool and Coldiretti Lazio.
The aim of the initiative was to involve the entire sector chain, helping to promote development models capable of finding the most profitable balance between tradition and innovation. Extra virgin olive oil, as the undisputed king of the Mediterranean diet and an excellence of the made in Italy, makes our agri-food heritage unique in the world; to tell about it is like taking a photograph of the landscape, culture, and traditions of our country. The choice of the city of Rome was highly symbolic: the Campagna Amica Market at the Circus Maximus was the agora for in-depth discussion and debate, but at the same time also an exhibition area and market, an ideal place to welcome insiders but also the curious, consumers, oil lovers, as well as international buyers.
The closing day of the event, 26 November, coincided with the celebration of World Olive Day. Between Saturday and Sunday, several talks were scheduled to discuss topics of particular interest and topicality for both professionals and consumers.
Representatives of the political-institutional world, representatives of companies in the sector, scientists and experts were present. Several issues were addressed: the health benefits of oil consumption, market scenarios and prospects for PDO and PGI origin certification, oil tourism, and various new opportunities for companies in the supply chain.
