Last week of June marked the end of the 2024 strawberry season. The overall results in terms of both quality and quantity have been satisfactory. This is also thanks to favorable weather conditions, a variable that was not as positive in 2023.
The mild spring in both the north and south allowed for staggered harvesting and enhanced the quality of the product.
The reduced presence of foreign products also influenced the average retail price in 2024, which was 6.3% higher than that of2023. In fact, the volume of imported strawberries in the February-March 2024 period was halved compared to the same period in 2023.
