International Book Fair: exploring creativity
From May 9th to 13th, the city of Turin will host a new edition of the “Salone Internazionale del libro”, under the direction of Annalena Benini. Within the Lingotto Fiere complex, there will be space for more than eight hundred stands, approximately two thousand events, and another five hundred will take place scattered throughout the city with Salone Off.
The theme of the thirty-sixth edition will be “Vita Immaginaria”, that surprising and mysterious territory that gives rise to a heritage of infinite possibilities: a tribute to creativity and imagination. Furthermore, two major themes will guide this new edition: the first one will be a reflection on feminism, gender violence, and the role of women today, through the memory of symbolic women of the past and present; the second one will focus on contemporary society and our present through the perspective of youth and adults.
Among the various novelties, we find the inauguration of pavillon four, a temporary space built to give greater visibility to Bostock, which targets all visitors of Salone. Pavilion four will be a space dedicated to education, experimentation, and exchange between different generations. Another novelty this year is the seven sections (art, cinema, publishing, information, lightness, romance and novel), which will accompany the general program, each of them dedicated to a central theme for the Salone. The care and moderation are entrusted to writers, intellectuals, and artists experienced in the field.
In conclusion, the 2024 edition of the Salone del Libro promises to be an event rich in inspirations and opportunities. The novelty of pavilion Four and the introduction of the seven thematic sections will further enrich the visitors' experience, providing spaces for in-depth exploration and debate on central topics for the Salone.
