Giacomo Caleffi: The Italian behind the $5 Billion Project in New Zealand
More than 100 wind turbines could soon dot New Zealand's coastal waters thanks to a new project under the leadership of Giacomo Caleffi, an Italian who holds the position of senior business development manager at Copenhagen Offshore Partners. This plan involves the creation of a wind farm requiring an investment of USD 5 billion, located about 23 kilometres off South Taranaki Bay, New Zealand.
Caleffi explained that the use of recently built and tested 15 MW generators is being considered. According to the senior manager of the major investment company, each would be able to power more than 6,000 large oil column heating systems in operation at most, or 2.5 million typical LED lamps.
