According to Cosmetica Italia, 2023 concludes with a turnover of 15 billion euros, showing a growth of 13.3% and an estimated additional increase of 9.8% in 2024. This growth is driven by exports, which have risen by 19.5% to 7 billion euros.
The cosmetic industry is experiencing strong acceleration. According to Benedetto Lavino, president of Cosmetica Italia, "the economic indicators show us the image of a responsive sector: in 2023, despite a socio-economic context characterized by tensions, difficulties related to costs and availability of raw materials and energy price increases, Italian cosmetic industry has recorded positive trends both in the domestic and international markets". In 2023, cosmetics ranked first among Italian manufacturing sectors for export growth.
"Innovation, research, and the ability to adapt quickly to new consumption patterns are the winning ingredients for our sector", adds the president.
