AI for Made in Italy: Google supports SMEs and vulnerable communities

Google launches "AI for Made in Italy”, an initiative aimed at assisting SMEs through resources, customised consultancy and free training courses both online and on the ground. The goal is to effectively integrate AI into the activities of companies, with a focus on the key sectors of Made in Italy: engineering, clothing, furniture and agrifood.

In addition, Google.org presents the "AI Opportunity Initiative" in Italy, with funding of EUR 1 million, to support disadvantaged communities and vulnerable workers in acquiring skills in the use of AI in their professional context.

Melissa Ferretti Peretti, Country Manager and Vice President of Google in Italy, emphasises the importance of a strategic vision on the application of AI and the skills needed to implement it. The project is divided into several steps, including an analysis of digital business maturity through AI Smart Report, developed in collaboration with the School of Management of the Politecnico di Milano.

The project also offers demonstrations of specific business use cases and tailor-made consultations with experts. The offer includes a wide range of courses dedicated to AI, tailored to different knowledge levels.

The first event will be held in Bergamo from April 17th to 19th, in cooperation with Anima Confindustria, and will be dedicated to the engineering sector, followed by events for the other key sectors of the Made in Italy industry.
