Small villages to promote Made in Italy

Ministry of Tourism has allocated 34 million euros for the redevelopment of villages and small municipalities with a tourist vocation and fewer than 5,000 inhabitants. This initiative recognizes that not only major cities, but also small villages can represent our identity on the world stage.

Tourism Minister Daniela Santanché, while presenting the Small Municipalities with a Tourist Vocation initiative, stated that villages “represent an invaluable competitive advantage compared to other nations. A unique element that contributes to making our international tourist offer highly differentiated and inimitable”.

The fund allocated by the Ministry of Tourism will be used to implement innovative projects in the fields of accessibility, mobility, urban regeneration, and environmental sustainability. Currently, 831 municipalities have submitted applications. Among them, 27 projects have beenselected, benefiting a total of 100 municipalities spread across 13 regions, divided into three territorial areas: North (18), Center (3), South and Islands (6).
