Pest management: a guarantee of excellence for Made in Italy
Hygiene, quality agriculture, workplace sanitation and the fight against insects: these are the factors behind the quality of Made in Italy products. There are 657,000 professionals working every day in over 57,000 businesses in collective catering, health, safety and facility maintenance. This topic was addressed during PestMed, the fair for Pest Management and sanitation professionals in Bologna, a privileged meeting point for companies not only from the European Union but also from South Korea, China, the United States and others.
President of the Emilia-Romagna Region, Stefano Bonaccini, expressed his views: "The theme of healthiness, food safety, everything that guarantees quality products in the food, enogastronomy and agri-food supply chain is crucial because there is increasing consumer attention. More generally, the cleanliness of places, catering and where food is produced – I say this in a region that has been hosting Parma for many years, and we are proud of it – the European Food Safety Agency, EFSA".
30% of the work is done in the food service channel, another 30% in large distribution and the remaining part involves canteens, public green and city pest control and private requests.
