Andrea Margaritelli, brand manager and fourth generation of the founding family of Listone Giordano, the Made in Italy excellence in the production of high quality parquet, talked about how the company is one of the few realities in the production of wood coverings that manage the entire production chain.
Born in Umbria, Listone Giordano owes its origins to a long history of family entrepreneurship, culminating in the 1980s with the birth of a parquet that was different from the traditional solid wood parquet: the famous 'listone'.
Listone Giordano has always distinguished itself for a very respectful approach to the forest heritage, so much so that it has given birth to the most important Italian reforestation work of broadleaf trees carried out in Umbria: «In our family we have the habit of planting an entire forest at each generation change. This is both a way to honour the centuries-old tradition of farmers to plant a tree when a child is born, and to make a gift to future generations», Margaritelli explained.
Two activities take place at the plant in Burgundy: sustainable forest management and the initial processing of hardwoods such as oak. Subsequent processing takes place in Umbria, along with the distribution of the products in some 70 countries and 500 shops worldwide.
