« Go back Italia-Mongolia Forum boosts export and green opportunities
The internationalization of "Made in Italy" is receiving a new and vigorous impetus following the Italy-Mongolia Business Forum, held on December 2 at Villa Madama. The event, promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAECI) in collaboration with ICE, CDP, and SACE, was a key fixture in the "Diplomacy of Growth," aiming to strengthen bilateral economic ties, which have already seen a 10% growth in exports over the past year.
Financial and strategic support for Italian businesses was placed at the forefront with the participation of SIMEST CEO and General Manager, Regina Corradini D’Arienzo, who confirmed the internationalization hub's commitment to supporting investments in emerging markets.
The strategic priorities identified by institutional and business leaders focus on uniting the quality of Mongolian raw materials with Italian technological excellence. The sectors with the highest potential include:
- Textiles and Apparel
- Agri-food and Agro-industry
- Infrastructure Development
- Renewable Energy (Mongolia aims for 30% clean energy by 2030).
Latest Export Opportunities
In line with the drive for market diversification highlighted by the Forum, the last few days have confirmed new and urgent fronts for exporting companies:
- Focus on Emerging Agri-food Markets: Italian agri-food export, a pillar of Made in Italy, is being called upon to focus on high-growth potential markets such as Mexico, Poland, Romania, and South Korea.
- Boom in Green Made in Italy: Forecasts are strengthening regarding the export of low-carbon technologies (LCT), the "Green Made in Italy," which is expected to grow significantly, with projections of strong increases in 2024-2025.
Current Promotional and B2B Activities
Regarding promotional activities and the positioning of Italian companies abroad, institutional efforts remain focused on training and selecting excellence:
- ICE Training Programs: Ongoing training and selection activities (such as the CORCE program) are underway for high-potential SMEs in sectors like organic food and cosmetics.
- B2B and Promotional Showcases: These programs, which involve personalized assistance, aim to build a B2B/B2C bridge between Italian producers and foreign operators, ensuring that the country's excellences are presented in a structured and targeted manner in international markets.
